Children's Privacy Notice

This Children’s Privacy Notice governs Inflection Point Learning, Inc.’s (“Inflection Point Learning,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collection, use, and disclosure of personal information from individuals under the age of thirteen in the United States who are students of Inflection Point Learning’s educational institution customers (each a “Child” and collectively “Children”) when providing the Inflection Point Learning platform (the “Site”), the reading and practice resources, and other services accessible via the Site (collectively, the “Services”). This Children’s Privacy Notice supplements our online Privacy Notice and informs about our information practices with regard to children.

1. CHILDREN'S PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account Information. When a school administrator (“School”) creates an account on the Site, Inflection Point Learning collects a Child’s first name, last name, username, grade, and any other personal information that a School adds to the Child’s account.
Performance Information. As Children use the Services, Inflection Point Learning may collect their learning progress and performance, such as lessons completed or badges earned (“Performance Information”).
Device Information. Inflection Point Learning may collect personal information about a Child’s device, such as Internet protocol (IP) address, user settings, cookie identifiers, other unique identifiers, browser or device information, Internet service provider, and location information (including, as applicable, an approximate location derived from the IP address).
Usage Information. Inflection Point Learning may collect personal information about a Child’s use of the Services, such as the pages that a Child visits, items that they search for, the types of content they interact with, information about the links they click, the frequency and duration of their activities, and other information about how a Child uses the Services.
Cookies and Other Technologies. Inflection Point Learning, as well as third parties, may use cookies, pixel tags, and other technologies (“Technologies”) to automatically collect personal information from Children when they access and navigate through the Services and use certain of its features.

Cookies. Cookies are small text files stored in device browsers.

Pixel Tags and Web Beacons. A pixel tag (also known as a web beacon) is a piece of code embedded in the Services that collects personal information about use of or engagement with the Services. The use of a pixel tag allows us to record, for example, that a user has visited a particular web page. We do not use pixels for third-party targeted advertising.
Our Services do not include any features allowing a Child to make their personal information publicly available.
2. HOW WE USE CHILDREN'S PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may use Children’s personal information for authorized educational purposes, including as directed by the School or the Child’s parent or legal guardian (“Parent”), and as described below.
Provide the Services. We may use personal information to provide the Services, such as:

Providing access to certain areas, functionalities, and features of the Services;

Fulfilling the educational purposes of the Services;

Personalizing content shown on the Service and Child’s experience;

Ensuring the age-appropriateness of the Services;

Answering requests from educators; and
-
Sharing personal information with third parties as needed to provide the Services.
Improve the Services and Develop New Offerings. We may use personal information to improve, upgrade, or enhance the Services and to develop new offerings.
Operate Business. We may use personal information to operate our business, such as:

Pursuing research and development, network and information security, and fraud prevention;

Providing support for the internal operations of the Services;

Ensuring service continuity;

Carrying out analytics;

Creating de-identified or aggregated information;

Enforcing our agreements and policies; and

Carrying out activities that are required to comply with our legal obligations.
No Targeted Advertising. We do not collect, use, or disclose Children’s personal information for the purpose of marketing or advertising third-party commercial products or services, including targeted advertising. In addition, we take steps to disable third-party ad networks on webpages with child-directed content.
3. HOW WE MAY DISCLOSE CHILDREN'S PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may disclose Children’s personal information to third parties as described below:

Is This Disclosure Integral to the Services?: No
We may also disclose a Child’s Account Information and Child’s learning activity on the Services, and other Usage Information to a teacher or staff member who is an authorized user of Inflection Point Learning (“Teacher”) when a Child’s account is connected to a Teacher. This information may include a Child’s name as well as information in the Child’s account and account settings.
We may also disclose Children’s personal information to external parties if we, in good faith, believe doing so is required or appropriate to (i) comply with law enforcement requests, national security requests, or other government requests; (ii) comply with legal process, such as a court order or subpoena; (iii) protect Child’s, our, or others’ rights, property, or safety; (iv) enforce our policies or contracts; (v) collect amounts owed to us; or (vi) assist with an investigation or prosecution of suspected or actual unauthorized or illegal activity.
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, purchase or sale of assets, transition of service to another provider, or other similar corporate transaction, Children’s personal information may be shared, sold, or transferred as part of such a transaction.
We may also disclose de-identified or aggregated information that does not reasonably identify any individual.
4. PARENTAL RIGHTS AND CONTROLS
As a Parent, you have the following controls over your Child’s personal information. At any time, you may:

review your Child’s personal information that we maintain;

refuse to permit us to further collect or use your Child’s personal information; and

request that we delete your Child’s personal information.
You may do so by:

Sending us an email at info@inflectionpointlearning.com. We may require you to take certain steps or provide additional information to verify your identity before we act upon your request.
Please note that if you refuse to permit us to further collect or use your Child’s personal information, or if you request deletion of your Child’s personal information, we may terminate our Services we provide to the Child.
If you request that we delete your Child’s personal information, we will delete as much information as we are legally permitted.
5. RETENTION OF CHILDREN'S PERSONAL INFORMATION
We retain Children’s personal information for only as long as it is reasonably necessary to fulfill the specific purposes for which we have collected Children’s personal information and which we described in section “How We Use Children’s Personal Information” above. When Children’s personal information is no longer needed to fulfill any of the specific purposes, we delete Children’s personal information.
We do not retain Children’s personal information indefinitely.
